Flux designs and manufactures advanced custom magnetic components and power supplies for the electronics industry.

Chokes : coiled inductor used in electrical circuits to block (“choke”) high-frequency alternating currents and to allow direct current (DC) and alternating currents of lower frequencies to pass. Chokes manufactured by Flux are typically used in power supplies for EV Charging, eMobility systems, audio systems, and in advanced electronics for satellites, spacecraft, airplanes, and rocket boosters.

Transformers : Transformers are used in power supplies that require galvanic insulation or a larger step-up/down voltage than a common buck or boost converter can deliver. We have decades of experience in designing and producing transformers of all types for power supply topology.

Inductors : Briefly put, inductors are electrical components used to store energy in a magnetic field. Inductors are an integral part of all power supplies and other electrical equipment. 

 


ESA ESCC Qualification released Detail Specification ESCC3201/013 for Space application 

After Final Review by ESA, the new designs entered an ESCC Qualification Campaign, which is now successfully concluded and reported to ESA.

Based on the success of the ESCC Qualification Campaign, Flux will now apply for expansion of our ESCC Domain to include SMC core material and an Epoxy used for both potting and encapsulation.

  • High Power High Voltage 5kW planar trans-former for Electrical Propulsion output stage.
  • High Power High Voltage 5kW planar inductor for Electrical Propulsion output stage.
  • High Current SMD inductor series in SMC material with very high saturation limit.

The initial series inductors comprise six models ranging from 2.3μH to 100μH / 18.37A to 4.19A de-rated to ESCC-Q-ST-30-11.


Standard Magnetic Components for Defence and Space industry. 

Typical functions of standard components are Gate Drive Transformers, MIL-STD-1553 BUS Transformers, Current Sense Transformers, Inductors, and Chokes.

 

Gate Drive Transformers

GD Transformers are designed as low current signal transformers in four SMD sizes: EP5 1:1, ER9.5 1-2 outputs, RM4/ILP with 4 outputs and RM5/ILP with 2 outputs.

MIL-STD-1553 BUS Transformers

BUS Transformers are available as RM5 SMD and THT with or without shield between primary and secondary.

A small incapsulated SMD platform is available as well. The SMD platform is ideal for alternative ratios.

Current sense transformers

CS Transformer options so far cover up to ESCC-Q-ST-30-11 max. current 6.4A. Existing designs with higher current levels are being considered for the catalogue.

Inductors

Inductors are typical standard products and are represented by no less than 12 series, 3 toroid-based series with flying leads for minimal footprint and 9 different planar SMD series in various sizes and current levels.
